HTC Windows Phone 8S Review – The Definitive Buyers Guide

Windows smart phone lovers rejoiced about the release of this quick and stylish new device! The HTC Windows Phone 8S was first revealed by the HTC Corporation in September 2012 and was released just one month later. Those of you who are money conscious may have waited to upgrade to this device, well now is the time. The HTC Windows Phone 8S is based on the latest technology of Windows 8 and comes with various improved and enhanced features. One of the favourite features of this phone is the numerous styling options. Available in many different colours including Domino, Fiesta Red, Atlantic Blue and High-Rise Grey, you are likely to find one suited for you.

The HTC Windows Phone 8S is a 2G and 3G supporting device and a Micro SIM is used in it. Though, this phone is lacking some of the features found on other devices, it is certainly value priced. Overall this phone is really amazing and has been praised by many for its’ user-friendly interface. Those of you looking for a mobile party should appreciate the 3mm audio jack that supports some pretty impressive sound for such a small device. The 5 mega pixels camera features dual-core technology and 4GB of internal storage capacity. Anyone looking for the perfect combination of style, features, and functionality would be wise to consider this phone.

Design

As we briefly mentioned earlier, this phone comes with a variety of style options. The only negative thing about this Windows Phone is its similarity to the Nokia Lumia line. This has created some rumbling, but overall this is a well designed device. Speaking more technically, the dimensions are 4.74 x 2.48 x 0.41 in and a nearly unnoticeable 113 grams. Again, style and comfort come together nicely in this device.

I know what you may be thinking; is it durable? You bet it is! The first thing you should notice is its use of the latest enhanced technology of “Corning Gorilla Glass”.  The 4.0 inch is capable of displaying around 16 million natural colors and is known for great picture and video quality. The integration of the multi-touch sensor technology brings the functionality of this device to the front of the pack.

Hardware

The HTC Windows Phone 8S comes packed with the latest and greatest improvements such as the dual-core processor technology. More specifically, this Windows 8 based smart phone comes with a dual-core 1 GHz Krait processor.  This device also comes with the 512 MB RAM and internal storage capacity of 4 GB. If that fails to meet your storage needs, then take advantage of the availability to upgrade external storage to 32GB. It should also be noted that the HTC 8S supports technology such as GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE and USB. The version of Bluetooth used in the HTC 8S is v3.1.

The 5 mega pixel camera found on this phone is more than sufficient and is enhanced by technology like geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. Those of you searching for a device with a camera in the front as well will not find it here. Ultimately, I would say that this is a more than adequate phone for most people and unless you are looking for a specific feature, this phone would please any user.
